Began transportation career as a train conductor on the Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW).
Served as General Manager of Boston’s Commuter Rail.
40 year management career serving as Vice President-Labor Relations and Senior Vice President-Operations at C&NW (trains), Great Lakes Transportation (ships and trains), Maersk SeaLand (ships), RailAmerica (trains) and Central Maine & Quebec Railway (trains).
Personal Experience
Educated in the Gloucester Public Schools: GHS Class of 1969.
Earned Bachelors and Masters of Business Administration from Northwestern University (Chicago).
Grandfather Paul immigrated from Sweden to work in Cape Ann granite quarries, later became City Assessor of Gloucester.
Father Robert practiced surgery at Addison Gilbert for 35 years; served as Chairman of the Gloucester Board of Health.
